1.0 out of 5 stars Why Does It Cost Anything?, December 16, 2011

Yes this is not costly, but why must one pay anything at all. It's one thing when an item/software comes with considerable documentation and then someone comes along and writes an "X for dummies" type book. But I no manual beyond a few start up hints came with my Kindle, nor have I found a detailed guide to the Kindle on it. Amazon is deservedly famous for customer service and is one reason why I am a regular customer, but unless I have missed something (entirely possible) they have dropped the ball on this one.

3.0 out of 5 stars Self explanatory, November 28, 2011

The Kindle Fire is actually pretty easy to figure out and use right out of the box. It threw me a few times because I kept trying to create "Collections" or subfolders to organize my books. I finally gave up and emailed Customer Service. I also tried to listen to my box via text to speech only to learn that feature is not enabled for the Kindle Fire. The Kindle Fire is a fantastic ebook reader very suitable for brand new beginners who have never used an ebook reader before. It's actually much easier to use than the Kindle WiFi. I don't think a manual is necessary at all, but for the price, it's not going to break anyone's pocket to buy this help manual.
